The materials I began with.   A 12x24 canvas (purchased two marked down to 50% off-$7.99!!) , batting, fabric, ribbon, and three wooden block initial letters.  The hooked letters were my splurge item at $4.99 each from Hobby Lobby.  I also used a glue gun and staple gun.   You can choose any size canvas based on space and accessory amount--bigger is better! :)
I wrapped the batting around the frame and stapled the batting to the canvas--be sure to pull tightly.
I then wrapped the fabric around the covered canvas.  Be sure to wrap it evenly if you have a design or pattern on the fabric.  Then staple securely.
I then selected a coordinating ribbon to attach to the board.  The ribbons will hold the hair clips and headbands. Be sure to measure the canvas so you can evenly space your ribbons.  I looped and hot glued the last row of ribbon to hold my headbands.
Here's the finished product.  I stapled a piece of fun rainbow ribbon to hold the board.
Take some time out this summer and enjoy a fun summer project!!  I am thinking of making a second one designed for a boy!!  I am thinking of making it a photo board, and hooks to hold baseball caps!
